frogs with chameleons

I Did the wterfall for the humidity. I like your idea of spliting the cage, I think it will work good. my chameleon only uses half the cage so spliting should be easy. I will raise the lights to lower the temp. and make some more modification. thanks
 
Why not keep the frog in the tank and just make a bottom for the top part for the chameleon-or is that what you were thinking about doing?
 
I want to try to keep the height. I was thinking about using a cork background, and cover the glass so only the front is open. When I get time I may rebuild a cage more suitable for the chameleon

will lowering the temp help raisr the humidity

Will the reflection on thr glass stress her out bad enough to cause any major concern?

It very well could!
 
its mainly a 55 gal tank, on one side I built a tall screened encloser with a door on the front, to replace one hood. On the other side I built a sreened lid. It has a piece of plexy glass about 5in high making a 10 gal body of water with a turtle filter. I don't have alot of decor yet, but it has some good detail in if
 
I was going to ask that next..... this thread really needs pictures.. sounds like a big mess.
 
I wonder why this guy is so hellbent on putting them together. I've had frogs in the past and there's not too many that could be ruled out as cham food when it's bigger. And the ones that are big enough could be a danger to the chameleon (bullfrogs, pacman frogs). What kind of frogs are being considered to be in the tank with the chameleon? Seriously for the well being of both just separate them. Anyone remember the thread of the guy who had turtles in a tank with his cham from a few months back? Now THAT was an absolute mess! Kinda picturing that here too
 
If he is indeed "hellbent on putting them together", let him. If mystery doesn't learn from their own mistakes... well... there's a saying...
 
I'd like to know what kinds of frogs are in there as well. they may have different environmental needs.
 
pics will definately help as well as the type of amphib you are wanting to co-mingle -- cohabitation is not something to do lightly.
 
You indicate that the screened enclosure is 5 feet tall. That's plenty tall for most chameleons. I think sectioning it off so the frog is in the tank and the chameleon is in the screened section would be the best way to "share space". I, too, am looking forward to pictures. Often descriptions leave too much to our imaginations.

Or they could separate it entirely like they could and should. I don't see why they should even be in the same area. They are most likely two different habitats and two different needs.
 
Mystery, where in texas are you located. I would be willing to help you and your cham. I am in Houston. That enclosure and quite a bit of other things need to be changed and quickly... That cham will dehydrate and die with 100 deg temps in that cage. As for the tank below. You are asking for problems. Not just stress for the animals but also its a uri infection waiting to happen. Ive been keeping panthers, veileds, jacksons, & carpets so I have exp with veileds.

Yes, I already indicated I thought separating them was both safest and easiest, but mystery says this is what he (she?) wants to do.
 
I have dart frogs and have chameleons, neither the two shall meet! They have different needs and to care for all of them appropriately, it is required that they have their own worlds (vivs/ cages). If they were together and I had problems, then all of them would be affected verses just one and a much larger mess to sort out. Besides, by having them in seperate areas I am able to enjoy them more and seeing them closer to wha there normal environment would look like.:)
