Friggin light bulbs

God I am frustrated!! I have no idea why, but it seems like 1 out of every 4 light or heat bulbs I buy for my reptiles blows out within the first week! Thankfully my new cham has yet to arrive, but its been just shy of 2 weeks and the basking bulb is dead already! What gives! I've never had such awful luck with regular bulbs no matter what the wattage. I keep feeling like I'm getting scammed by these companies. Logically, I know it isn't true and there has to be some explanation, such as the stores I get them from don't give a damn about how they are shipped and stocked, but I need to vent it to people who might understand. My buddies at work would think I'm just a raving fool.

Where are you buying these bulbs from? Are they "basking" bulbs or are they just regular incandescent bulbs?

All different stores, local, out of state... they are both basking and night heat lights for different animals. I think I just have bad luck

The pet-brand bulbs I used to buy always broke within a week or two. Then I made a trip to Home Depot and bought some soft-white, incandescent bulbs. They last for two years, give off plenty of heat and only cost 89 cents for a pack of four.
