Free roaming food

Hi! I have had my panther cham for about a week and the only way he will eat is out of my hand (He is two years old). I would like to free roam some bugs but fear they will hang out in the bottom of the cage where he never goes- I am afraid he will not see them. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am stuck hand feeding and cup feeding?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for improving my cage?

Thank you :)

feeding cup

Hello, I am new as well but I have done tons of searching to find solutions to feeding insects that will stay in the provided feeding cup and still be appealing to my little Radagast. I have a bird feeder that I bought at Petco. It is almost a U shape, if you can imagine a flat back and round front. I took the attachment off for the birds cage and hot glued magnets to the back so that I can place it up high where he hangs out. What makes it appealing is the stick I siliconed to the bottom of the feeder that rises above the top of the plastic so the worms, or insects can climb and wiggle around at the top of the stick. That way the insects are contained in the feeder because the sides are too slippery and then when they find a part to crawl onto, its appealing to my chameleon. That might be an option for you.

You'll probably find that if you set crickets loose in the cage that they'll actually gravitate towards the top, where the warmth is. But you can definitely make some sort of cup feeding if you wanted to, any container that the crickets can't jump out of is fair game. I use containers like the tall yogurt containers but really anything will do.
