Ok I know ficus are usage for veiled but what about beardies? Freckles was out of his enclosure and in his favorite window. I put the ficus down last night on the floor so I could clean house. I really didn't think he would try eating it. Is it safe for him?
Ficus contains oxalic acids, which are known to bring forward renal diseases. It's not safe to eat a lot of leaves neither for bearded dragons nor for chameleons. I know some cases in reptiles with problems probably coming from frequent oxalic acid containing "plant meals". If the reptile is eating frequently and did not just ate one time accidentally some leaves, I would change plants to definitely eatable non-harming ones.
