Four Horned (Quad) eating out of my hand!

Josh he is wonderful. Man my cage is so over planted. Just another thing to correct. Tell me about your fogger, that looks awsome for my quad & new quad to be (hint, hint). Mine will ear out of my hand but she isn't a comfortable looking, for lacl of a better description, as your is. Very nice boy, how old is he?

Laurie,

We use the repti-fogger, you can buy it at LLL. We have had great luck with them, we have a few on the adults and the babies as well. I use PVC piping to get the fog to go over the cage and then I drill 3 small holes in it so it falls like a waterfall effect, it seems to work better for them, also some condensation accumulates on the screen from the fog and they like to drink that as well. Both of our adult males are WC so we are not sure how old they are exactly, however this guy was very small when we got him and now he has grown to an even larger size then our other adult male and has taken over as the dominant one, they are not housed together anymore. We could at one time have multiple females and the two males in an enclosure but now we keep them separate. As far as being comfortable, both our males are extremely docile and friendly and will eat out of your hand, however we are seeing that the females are a bit more skittish and prefer to be left alone, my wife was able to get our very young new female to eat out of her hand, since we have put her in with the other female, she seems to be doing much better and likes the company. Funny thing is, you can tell the temperments in the babies too, even the one female that we have left, she is the shyest and won't eat if you are looking. We are fattening up the little male that we will be sending to you next week, you will love him, just remember to keep plenty of food around they are eating machines...

Josh,

thanks for the nice video, and great explanation of how you use the foggers.
I've been eyeing your babys for quite awhile, and maybe in the near future you'll get a PM from me to save something durring your next clutch.

quads are without a dought my next cham, and I hope it comes from you.
your babys are the best.

Thanks Harry I appreciate the kind words. I have about 24 eggs that should be hatching in about 2 months or so, just let me know if you want one, they are a fun species.

Awesome Josh! What a chill guy! So you use multiple foggers on one cage? I am making my final adjustments to start up with these guys! I can't wait!

No, just one fogger per cage. I just put three or four holes in PVC and attach the fogger to that. That is why it apears to be multiple foggers.

I thought foggers are a poor choice for Chameleons ? New to Chams and curious.

Jeff I think you are confusing foggers and waterfalls. Waterfalls are a big no-no. Foggers for a cham that needs high humidity, like a quad, are great.

Josh I am sooooo excited to get the little guy. I will post pictures as soon as he gets here.

I'm well aware of that Josh.

my baby panther will be in his adult cage before they are sellable, and I'll have both cages hooked up to a mistking on top of wire racks for drainage.
I'll put my humidifier next to the quad baby's cage as well...I have it all planed out.

I just didn't want to send you a PM before the eggs start hatching...
oh who an I kidding? :p
sending a PM with my info. lol

Josh, That a cool video of him eating. When you get a chance could you post some pics of your fogger setup? I'm having issues with my cage. It's size is making humidifying it an issue.

Josh would a humidifier work as well as a fogger? Thanks

Hi AJA,

sorry that I can't show links at this time as I'm reinstaling my windows and folders now....
but it's not to hard to do.

the top of my humidifier (where the mist comes out) is removable...most are.
just use PVC pipe (or pool hose) to create a pipe system to lift the mist to the top of the cage....
then run another pipe across the top of the cage that has a few holes in it for the mist to spray out and into the top of the cage.

quite a few members here have done this.
I think chambabysitter has a great post with pics.

if others don't post a link, I'll be back to post a few links when my computer is more setup and updated.

edit: here is a link for chambabysitter's set up.
