Hi guys i will like to know how did it go, how did you get rid of it, what process did your vet take with you, what is the best way to prevent it, what type of med did you give to your cham, did your cham ever had problems shooting out his tongue? how bad did it get? inform me about your experience i will like to learn more about this now that im going thru this with my boy and we are fighting it hard :) ... And maybe other people can read the thread and be alert and learn a bit more of how to be alert and cautious about this bacteria.
Thnxxxx

I gave you two really good links to threads about coccidia in your vet thread.

My male veiled Luie has coccidia twice several years back. I find the clean up the hardest part. I am one of the most meticulous people you could ever meet and did the most thorough cleaning you could ever imagine and he still somehow picked it back up.

Some other good threads.

thnx jann!!

Some people seem to think that coccidia is bacterial....its caused by a protozoa (parasite)....just thought I should clear that up.

"Coccidiosis is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract of animals, caused by coccidian protozoa"...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coccidia

"The protozoa are one-celled animals and the smallest of all animals"...
http://www.mcwdn.org/Animals/PROTOZOA.html

"protozoa have a more complex organization than bacteria"...
