For iguana lovers

I just had a visit from my big male iguana that lives in my bushes. He comes out to visit when the sun is shining and since we have had some rainy days he was ready for some sunshine. He has a favorite basking area on the other side of the bushes so I can't see him, but he was in the grass, maybe visited the pond for a drink. Enjoy the pics.

Wow, that iggy looks very healthy.

There must be a ton of stuff for him to eat in the bushes or do you give him food?

If I had the space I'd get one of those red or yellow ones.

Omg they are everywhere here too!!! I have to becareful on this one road when i go to school in the mornings b/c they are EVERYWHERE!

Gorgeous creatures fo sho! hehe

I don't feed any of the wild things around the house. I feel they are healthier without my help. They do just fine without me. All I do is NOT cut down the plants and bushes that my HOA would love me to clean out, but I will not do. I like to look at "my" animals and feel like I live in an animal preserve. My sun room is my inside preserve and the glass windows look out into my outside preserve.

This is my male cuban iguana.
This guy is 15 years old.

Wow, he kinda looks like a rock iguana.

Do you house him indoors or is he outdoors 24/7?

I would get an iggy if I had the extra spare bedroom for it cuz they grow pretty big. :)

I agree, that iggy looks like he's working out too :D

Man, I wish I can see sights like that. I'd probably sit outside all day long. The only time I see animals is when I go to the zoo or my pets.

He is a Cuban rock iguana and is very tame.
He is outside about 6 months a year, weather permitting.

oh.. I thought there were only cayman rock iguana's..

I wonder how many kind of rock iguana's there are.

Do you let him roam inside your house or do you have a spare bedroom for him?

Do you put him on a leash and take him for a walk :D

I'm comtemplating if I should get one of those red iguana's. The yellow ones I'd love to get but they are too expensive.

He doesn't have run of the house. I have 2 dogs,2 cats and a toucan that would be too curious.
He has a large walk in cage in my basement in the winter months.
No leash walking,my neighbors think I am weird enough now!

No leash walking?? That's ok, everyone's weird in their own little way.. lol

You gotta try the leash and take some pics..haha I think it'll be fun.
