For Biology Project; A few questions for Panther and Veiled Chameleon Enthusiasts

I wanted to know if anyone could help me on if there were any facts about the DNA of the panther and veiled chameleons. Like, how they are related, DNA wise. Also, what the original species of chameleons was and how these two species stemmed from that. I had trouble finding information specific to this online. If anyone can find some information it would be much appreciated. Thanks

It appears that according to this, Furcifer (panther chameleon genus) and Chameleo (veiled chameleon genus) broke off approximately 47.5 million years ago. The breaking is likely due to the movement from Central Africa to what is now known as Madagascar. In terms of DNA similarities, I didn't see much.

However, using an example from another set of animals. Dogs and Bears separated 50 million years ago and their DNA holds 96% similar (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/06/0606_050606_alpsbears_2.html). It is then likely that the genetic differences in Furcifer and Chameleo are less than 1%.

Edit: Just realized I posted the same source as the above commenter
