Is there any foods besides crickets and mealworms that can give your cham nutrition? she likes to eat lettuce but i know thats very low nutritional value, but its one of the only ways she will drink water. so r there any other fruits or vegetables that a veiled might like?

I've never actually fed my cham fruits but I use them as part of gutload. I've given her kale, squash, carrots. She really seemed to enjoy. Not all chams drink a lot. My female veiled only catches the mist from misting when I first do it that day. Other than that she just sits there and enjoys her shower then goes back to basking.
you can also feed an assortment of worms that are good at hydrating especially juicy hornworms. Phoenix, silk and hornworms along with occasional waxworms are all favored by my cham and really easy to keep:)

Dubia Roaches are one of the best feeders you can give to your Chameleon and the easiest to maintain and start your own colony. If you can get Dubia Roaches that should be one of the main staples. Fruits and veggies should not be a main diet for the Chameleon. Let that be the main for the Dubias and your Chams will get tons of nutrition from the Dubias.

yeah she wont even like lick the water off the plants.. the only way i can get her to drink is when i actually spray her and the water runs down her face.

and idk if we have dubias here in colorado. are they something you can get at a normal pet store?

What kind of Chameleon is she? How long are you misting for and how often? Sometimes it takes a long enough misting session before they will start drinking. Sometimes when I mist my female Jackson she will not start drinking until about at the 4 minute mark of the misting session.

I am sure that you can get them at a pet store there in Colorado and you can also get them online from one of the many sponsors on this site. What is good about Dubias besides their good nutritional value(given you gutloaded them good) is their ease in breeding. You do not even need a separate bin to separate out the babies. They all can be kept in the same bin. Heck they even tend to eat their own poo minimizing the cleanup.

She is a veiled. i mist her for about a good two to three minutes. and i mist her like 4 or 5 times a day. and i have a dripper. i can get her to drink a lot when i put her in a bin when im cleaning out her cage. i put her and her plants in a deep plastic bin and mist her. she will just sit there and drink all the water running down the sides. ill look in to getting dubias. thanks :)
