Do you do short ones a couple times throughout the day, to give them bumps in humidity?I don’t use a fogger since I am unable to get low enough night time temps. However, just for a very subtle humidity increase at night, I run a couple of 15 second mistings via Mist King.
I have the misting systems set for 2 minutes before lights go on and off and a 1 minute session around 2 pm. If anything, I am having to run a dehumidifier during the day right now. We’ve had a lot of rain almost every day over the past few weeks.Do you do short ones a couple times throughout the day, to give them bumps in humidity?
Could ypu explain:
"I am unable to get low enough night time temps"
Would you not use a fogger above the nightime temp drop temperatures?
Depends on your enclosure. Personally, I use an inexpensive humidifier with a 3/4" flex tube for my smaller 18x18x24 enclosures for my Lateralis. This requires more frequent container fill ups and cleaning. For my large 36x24x60 enclosure, the 5 gallon fogger made by James Cross aka the Fogfather, is freaking awesome. Fill up once a week, and easy to clean. Check out diy chameleon guys on YT.Would love some fogger suggestions. Do you have a fogger you like? Let me know!
Thank you for this so what I assume is during the winter do your temps go lower? If they do go lower to allow a fogger do yuh use one then? Im in Texas and it’s still hot and the room he is goes down to 70 but that is about it. During the winter though that room specifically ranges from 65-75 so safely I could use a fogger at night when it’s on the low end during the winter?I have the misting systems set for 2 minutes before lights go on and off and a 1 minute session around 2 pm. Ideally, we give our chameleons a nice cool night of below at least 68F and then are able to run a fogger to boost humidity as high as possible. I’m in Florida and it just isn’t possible for me to achieve such a temp drop at night. My house stays in the mid 70’s, which is too warm for too much humidity. My chams would be at higher risk for respiratory infections.
I love this idea I think I’m going to try and do the same. Looks really cool.I like this top fill fogger from Pets Pioneer, using 3/4in. pvc pipe to go on the top of the enclosure. Drilling several holes in the top piece of pipe.

My choice as well and also modified it the same way you did https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/fogger-tube-modification.181357/I like this top fill fogger from Pets Pioneer, using 3/4in. pvc pipe to go on the top of the enclosure. Drilling several holes in the top piece of pipe.
