I use a humidifier I purchased for about 30 bucks on amazon, it makes this super thick fog which falls down into the cage and beads up on the leaves in the cage. I fill it once a day, it lasts on "high" all day, and I turn it off at night. because my cage is big, it only drops fog on half the area and this gives the chameleon a dry and a wet area. Before going this direction, I read about the misting systems available, from the inexpensive (100 bucks) to the super pricey, and from the customer reviews I read, the inexpensive models have a lot of problems with their electronic timing components and have a propensity to dump their entire reservoir into your cage when that timer fails. Users reported that if they plugged the thing into a separate timer, which you can get for cheap at a hardware store, this problem could be avoided. The big models were way out of my price range so I didn't research them in depth, but it seems like you probably get what you pay for in misting systems.
