Fogger on timer?

So I have a taotronics fogger, but it has it's own timer which is just a countdown from 1-24 hrs. Also has an ambient humidity setting and monitor. Problem is, I don't think there is any way to set it on a timer to say, turn on at 1am until 4 am. If it turns off you have to manually press the power on button to turn it on..... so any suggestions?

I don't know but you might need to open it up and bypass the power button so that it runs when you plug it in instead of pressing the button.

You cant just put it on a regular timer with the fogger set to "on?"

Nope, theres an on/off button. When you unplug it and plug it back in you have to press the on button as well to get it going again.

That stinks. so the timer.... is it a count down timer? like your telling it to shut down after x hours?

Yup. When I read the description I figured it was a regular timer. Stupid me. Aside from that though it is a very nice humidifier. Has an AH % reading, a setting to keep it at, different mist settings, etc.

After I got the advise on that mister from you on my earlier thread. It was going to take too long to get one ordered so I bought a cheap drugstore one to tide me over. Now I will have to wait and see if you can resolve this.
This is probably a bad idea but can you tape the on button down and run it that way?

Hmmm that's not a bad idea. I'll have to see. Though it may just keep it going off and on. I'll let you know. It's such a nice fogger. Itd be a shame if it didnt work out.

I've never done anything like that either. Just heard of people doing it with other electronics. I wouldn't want you to ruin it though.

If you know a friend that works on tehir own car, you probably know a guy that could bypass the switch.

Welcome to the digital age ... I had this issue on my previous humidifier too, kinda glad it drowned itself... I now have a cheaper analog one that will just continue when powered on, I can arrange the humidity/time with a seperate device (sonoff th10).

I'd leave the digital one for yourself, it may come in handy as a backup and buy a cheap analoge one rather than mac Gyver-ing an electronics device that works with water risking to damage any seals... You know what I mean.

I have the medisana uhw , but the zoomed reptifogger should be analog aswell.

Obviously I wouldn't use the oil tray, but it has a large capacity/output and the analog control. Anyone feel like looking it over and telling me what they think. Cause I'm on my 3rd fogger now lol, not trying to waste anymore $$.

What are your thoughts on the filter/no filter models, or the uv sterilizers in some? I plan to use distilled, but I get paranoid about the bacteria build up in foggers. Not sure how much of a worry it is, but I don't want to cause any unnecessary problems.

I like that it has an automatic shutoff and I don't want to deal with a filter. I don't like that it has a night light but it looks like duct tape would take care of that. I only use distilled in my POS model so I don't get any residue or dust and no mold issues so far.
Reading the Amazon reviews the one stars reported a lot of leaks and ruined furniture.

@JacksJill yeah those 1 star reviews are scary. A lot of them say how they woke up to all of the water on the floor. Think I'll look elsewhere.
