I just picked up a Flukers 100 Watt Mercury Vapor bulb. I am setting up a new enclosure for my male panthers. And I am intrigued by the all in one mercury vapor bulbs. I am putting the bulb in the zoo-med deep dome fixture.

Would this be alright in an 18x18x36 or do I need to go with a 24x24x48. I am very limited on space so I would prefer the smaller of the two and I was told if I utilize the space efficiently I can get away with this size.

I searched and searched and have not found a lot of information on mercury vapor bulbs on this forum. I would like to hear from everyone who uses them and hear about your setups and how they are working out for you.

Thanks!

i personally only use them for large to huge free ranges as they pierce through brush with uvb pretty well, ive never tried the flukers version, always went with the zoo-med powersun..i would lift it up off the top of the cage by about 12 inches and tilt it so its only hitting half of the cage...otherwise heres what my 100 watt powersun uvb\uva bulb works on...:D

so it gives that whole (fairly large tree at 7 1\2 foot tall) pretty good uvb nd light that it grows really well..and they do not bask constantly under it like other chams do with tube uvb and a house bulb(they bask all day and never move)..so hopefully that gives you a lil info on the power of these bulbs..
