Fluctuating Temperatures

So my eggs have been incubating 2 months now and i have been fortunate enough to have only 1 egg mold over out of 23(knock on wood).

My dilema is that the incubator I have the temperature fluctuates from 72 degrees to 77. Is that too much of a jump in temp or will that be ok?

Another question is that the cpu fan that i am using has dim blue l.e.d lights in it. Has anyone used a cpu fan with l.e.d's or should i change to a different one?

For the fluctuating temperatures, are you measuring the general air temperature in the incubator? The thing to remember with temp fluctuation is that air temperature fluctuates much more drastically than the temperature of liquid (which is partially what's inside your cham eggs). For an accurate reading when I used to breed bearded dragons, I used to get a small cup and fill it with water and place it into the incubator. I would then test the temperature of the cup water as it is far more accurate than just air temp. Hope this helps

That depends on how frequently it fluctuates. I've always run a night drop with mine, so my incubator fluctuates 6 degrees between a 12 hour day/night cycle. I would not do this if it was just randomly swinging the temps throughout the day. The blue lighted fan might be ok depending on how much light your egg boxes block, but that is actually the worst color spectrum to expose them to. I use red party bulbs to heat my incubators only because ceramic heat emitters are so expensive. That's been working fine for me for a long time.

Thanks for the feed back. Yah I am testing the air temp I will try the water in the cup idea it makes sense.

My temps fluctuate randomly throughout the day.

Thanks I'll try and see if maybe I could disable the lights without killing the fan.
