Flowers are tasty

Maybe the nectar from the flowers is dessert? Just a thought 🤷🏼‍♀️
Don’t be saying you have umbrella and fiscus in with a plant muncher over here in the uk. You will have a lynch mob at your door demanding you take them out because of how toxic they are!

Yes I have heard the fiscus, but not the umbrella. They are considered safe here. But she has been eating them her whole life

I’m curious about plant toxicity, it seems that chameleons don’t have the same reactions as normal domesticated pets, but they are not in any way shape or form like cats and dogs. I was thinking maybe their digestive systems would be a bit more comparable to a bird than a dog? And the pollen, nectar, and uv signatures sound plausible as well. If anyone has a blacklight it’s possible to maybe check for bioluminescence of these flowers and new plant leaves? Makes me wish I had a laboratory in my house for chameleon research! 🤓

When I am trying to find out if a plant is toxic that I cant find on a cham list, I go to bird lists. I feel like you. If I had to pick mammal or bird to compare with I am going bird. Birds are also, well faster at eating plants and thus often eat before you get a chance. Many I call safe are based on birds eating them.
