Bill Love wouldn't tell me where they are. I know they're in Ft. Meyers, that's not a secret. But where exactly, I don't know.

Friend of mine just moved to Venice, so I'd be abel to go looking when I visit him. I'd love to see them in the wild - and I sure as heck ain't going to Yemen.

its almost a perfect climate in south florida. they have peacock bass in miami!
i would love to go down there and go fishing and catch wild veileds.

I would say yes seeing how big WC chameleons get compared to cb ones. Not to mention that wc chameleons get everything they need from the best keeper there is.

I think the last sentence is true, nature is an amazing provider ... can't agree with the cage size theory, however.
I do not believe these animals can stop growing or only reach a certain size based on the dimensions of their habitat.

to say its almost perfect climate for them would be a gigantic lie. veileds are just survivors...I'm pretty sure no other chams can sustain life in south florida year to year

It rains constantly in Florida. Plus the fact its so hot during the summer. And can be pretty chilly in the winter.

if you think it rains constantly in florida you are mistaken, it doesn't rain very much for 4 months out of the year and thats not even on a draught year

I live in Florida. It rained today and yesterday. It was the first rain in a couple of weeks but during the summer we have hurricanes to worry about. Last hurricane my house got like 6+ inches of rain.

yea, this is florida and we do get a lot of rain. like what was said earlier about four months out of the year we dont get much. in the summer it rains almost every single day between 3-6. You need to remember veileds come from a wide range of......ecosystems...(not sure if that is the correct word) where rainfall can be from 4-100 inches anually. also where they live temperatures can vary too. from riversides to high plateaus, and this can greatly affect temperatures. so, i dont think it is hard at all for them to live here in florida. honestly i am surprised there arent more! a couple of years ago my moms friend found a chameleon in her back yard. from the discription she gave me it was a jackson,and I live on the space coast.
