Also I have seen him drinking water a lot. He will grab droplets with his tongue and hang on the leave while he sort of pours it into his mouth.

this is normal.

one of my chams chomps it like a dog does food, another sucked on my misting nozzle to drink, others shoot their tongue at it.

Ok well I tried the shower idea with warm water barely misting his plant. He did not like this at all, and became the most stressed I have seen him and he reached off the plant and fell to the tub. I am worried he may have hurt himself, it looks like a small black spot on his cheek and leg now. Bruising maybe? I don't know but the shower is definitely not his thing.

Now the black spots have gone down a lot. They are as tiny as the ones I mentioned earlier. He doesn't seem to have any problems and is just as happy as ever.
