First timer egg laying!

Hey guys I have a veiled chameleon called nala she's about 10-12 months old and started to show signs of wanting to lay eggs spending time on the floor digging, getting larger around her belly, lighter colours with blue markings also noticed " egg lumps just above her legs". I have put in a digging site for her sand and soil mix as stated by everyone. With lots of extra cover so she can be in private. Since putting this in she had one little play in it and has now spent the last 2 days sat in her favourite branch. And today she didn't eat anything but still drinking ok. I'm a little worried as she looks like she's loosing her balance when she tries to move which is very unlike her. Any help tips or tricks much appreciated. Dan

Id say she found her laying spot and is comfortable with it and may just be chillen out til the time comes. My veiled just started digging today too.

Also curious... the spot you gave her to lay... is it a laying bin that is deep enough for her to dig or just a corner in the cage with substrate?

Hey guys she hasn't laid any eggs. And she's only dug little 2 small holes about 3 days ago. She has a tub about a foot wide just under a foot and half long by about 8 inches deep in the corner of her cage lots cover so no one can see it. All lighting and heat sources are good to. But she hasn't moved from her branch in 2 days and she seems scared if I go in to mist her etc which is unlike her but have read somewhere they do get REALY shy around egg laying time. How would I know for sure if she is egg bound? Thanks for your help

Update she doesn't seem to have much movement in her rear legs can I do anything to help. Should I put her in the sandbox or let her get there her self?

I would not touch her. Put something over the cage and cover her up and let her do her thing. You can look in through the top of the cage but very subtly. She is just tired from digging. Sometimes it takes over a day to lay and they can even sleep in their hole.

Cheers guys she hasn't been digging for at least 3 days viv has been covered the last 5 days trying to leave her to it. But just worrying as she hasn't bothered moving the last two days she seems really slow and dopey eyes are open as normal when I check her through the top of the cage. Think it might have to be a trip to the vets unless anyone else has any ideas. Thanks for your help
