Hey guys let me know what you think of this enclusure! Its my first time making an enclusure. I have a background in planted tanks.

You guys think that the future pygies will be happy in here?

I still need to paint the back of the tank. Let me know what you guys think.

Im going to take more pictures later.

LOL thanks! I might pick up one tomorrow. BUT, the guy is selling them for $30 when they should be $15. I'm picking some up in 2 or 3 weeks. I cant wait that long though...we'll see what happens tomorrow lol

I am into planted tanks too and from the moment I saw that picture i was like "that guy keeps planted tanks"
LOL i guess some of the techniques are the same??

Thats pygmy heaven.
:D

That looks really cool! It may be a little sparse for pygs. More visual barriers for them. But it really does look great. Kudos.:D
Im going to try and add more driftwood or maybe those fake vines. I dont really want to add the fake ones. im going to try and work some bigger driftwood into the tank.

where'd you get the wood? Looks pretty nice, post some updates once the plants fill in!

The wood is manzanita driftwood. Ill take a few more pictures. I just added some almonds leaves to the floor. ;) looks pretty cool

what kind of substrate do you use? I'm looking into getting a couple pygmies, but am not too sure what kind to use? Organic soil?

Agreed, a handful of large twigs for more climbing stuff would make this perfect and look just like a forest floor.I can see the planted tank influence in the wood placement etc.!

If you add some more brances and things to climb on it will be perfect

Ill start adding more today.

what kind of substrate do you use? I'm looking into getting a couple pygmies, but am not too sure what kind to use? Organic soil?

1st layer is peat moss/sag. mix
2nd layer is charcoal/carbon
3rd layer is hydroton

almost everything was picked up from home depot.

Ill take more pictures tonight. keep you guys posted!

it also seems that the plants are doing well. they are growing and shooting new stems

Welp, Added some more driftwood and also added a fern.

What do you guys think? does it look better? no so sparse anymore?

anyone? do you guys think this is more suitable for the pygmies? or does it need more twigs and driftwood?

I think it looks fabulous :)

The only suggestion I have is to add more small-diameter twig type branches. Pygmy feet are small, and they'll feel more comfortable gripping smaller twigs. They'll definitely appreciate the leaf litter. Also, you might want to consider mounting a small computer fan above the screen lid to get some air movement going.
