First time getting chameleon through the mail?

So, all of my chameleons have been bought at reptile shows, in stores, from local breeders or, in two cases, wild caught in Hawaii (mainly because they were in the middle of the road and I didn't wanna see them get hit). I have never ever gotten one through the mail from a reputable breeder.

What should I expect? How stressed will he be? What can I do to ease the stress? Anything else I should know? He is coming from California to NY, so the journey will be a bit lengthy, but there's a live arrival guarantee. I'm more concerned with his first 48-72 hours and how easily he will acclimate to the new environment after the journey.

he is a 4 month old veiled.

I just got my first chameleons on Wednesday. They were shipped overnight but spent an extra day delayed some place. Anyhow~ I think the main concern is to mist and hydrate when they arrive. I also pretty much caged mine up and then left them alone. By later that day/early evening, they seemed to have settled and their colors were great! I fed them about 2 hours after I got them and they all ate out of my hand. Good luck with yours!

Getting them through the mail is worse than waiting to open presents Christmas morning, you worry the whole time they are in transit and then you are pleasantly surprised when they walk out of their cup when they arrive......talk about a roller coaster ride

haha, tell me about it! he hasnt even been shipped yet, due to this freakin' hurricane...but I am counting down the days and I already have butterflies! AHHHH!

Totally, I couldn't sleep for the whole week before they shipped up until I finally opened the box. It was yesterday, not Wednesday that they arrived. It was a big sigh of relief!
