First season

Hi my girl Marleen my Yeman is having what I think is her first season
She’s developed orange swirls and aqua blue on her sides and crest
She’s had these colours for 4 days now
Yesterday she ate 3 locusts and today hasn’t eaten anything
I’ve put sand in the bottom
Of her home and keep spraying her lightly every couple hours to avoid dehydration
But being as this is my first experience as she’s my first Cham I’m told she’s about 8-10 month old now
Had her for 3 months and she’s a big eater up to 8 large locusts a day I’m a little worried
Any advice will be very welcome please
Thanks

She's probably displaying receptive colors, which means she will want to lay eggs in the distant future.

Make sure you do not neglect to provide a proper laying opportunity as eggbinding can happen and is in most cases
lethal to your chameleon.

It's also better to spray her fewer times for longer periods than more frequently and just for short periods, you want the cage to dry out between misting and you want to give her the opportunity to clean her eyes.
What seems to work well is a long misting early morning (before lights on) and a long misting in the evening, then around 2 mistings during the day to create extra drinking/cleaning opportunities. An automated mister is highly recommended.

Good luck and welcome to the forums!

Her colors look like this?
Can you post a pic of her viv and bin?

Thank you so much for the reply
How long typically would this last until say she did lay eggs is it a week or more a few days
Would you know please ?
Really appreciate your time

Yes her colours look exactly like that
I’ve gettinv a bin ready
At the mo a big deep tub filled with damp play sand in it bottom of her Viv

I’ll take some pictures in a mo

Thank you
The she is likely receptive, not yet gravid. Either way Remkon is totally correct, time to put in a lay bin. If she just turned receptive it will still be a month or two until she actually lays the eggs.

Welcome to the forums! It sounds like you are over feeding your girl. Overfeeding can cause them to lay many very large clutches. Every clutch they lay shortens their life. I only feed my girls 3 to 5 feeders, depending on the size, three times a week. You need a laying bin for her and not just sand in the bottom of her enclosure. Here’s a good video on how to make a laying bin.

THank you
Is it normal that she’s not eaten today ?
