Hi Everyone!
I am new to the forums and believe that my female is actually about to lay for the first time. She has been showing her gravid colors for about two weeks. She hasn't really been hanging out on the lower branches or digging at the bottom, but has been showing abnormal behavior such as irritability, aggression, dark coloration, and lack of appetite. This morning she was moving around more slowly and seemed to be grabbing on weaker. But we did get her to eat a cricket and ate a small amount of pear baby food with calcium mixed it. She was in her lay bin for about 3 hours, but no signs of digging. I have a separate lay bin set up for her outside of her cage right now and was wondering on how long it would be ok to leave her in there? I read it can take up to 72 hours for them to lay and just want to get some advice on this. This is my first chameleon and female, so I am super nervous and stressed about this whole experience the first time. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a picture of when she first became gravid, and then what she looked like this morning. Her color goes back to the normal bright orange and blue when she goes to sleep then gets darker.
Thanks so much!
Rachel
