First Cham + Question

Hey everyone! This guy showed up today and he's still pretty warn out and nervous, but he's warming up I believe. I think in two days he'll be 6 months old.

Shortly after he was put in the cage I misted it and fed him about 5 small crickets dusted with calcium with D3 (he wasn't too hungry after the trip). My question is: since I don't have plain calcium without D3 at the moment, should I continue to supplement with that for the next few days until I have some plain calcium or just skip dusting every other day or so? Screameleons' "Manual" says to do D3 for indoor chams every other day for juveniles. Could that work?

Or is there any good gut-loads that I could easily get that would fill in for the calcium supplement for now?

I'm just a little concerned because I know the normal way for panthers is to do D3 and Multivitamin twice a month (separate) and calcium for every feeding.

Also he is indoors with not a lot of sun rays (Minnesota weather is kicking in), but has uvb and daylight bulbs in a screen cage.

Thanks in advance for any help!

What you could do for now for plain calcium is get a cuttlebone used for birds... these are available virtually everywhere. Just grind it up into a fine powder and use that for your dusting. :)

I would shy away from using the d3 so frequently, you can easily over supplement with it and your guy is so young. i have always stuck to the calcium w D3 twice a month, no more

Ok thanks, would I possibly be able to feed once this morning without without the calcium and then I can pick up the calcium tonight for tomorrow?

I picked up some bird cuttlebone tonight and on the back it says it has 98.50% max of ash and Fibre 6.46% max. Is that ok for the chameleon to have? Also the calcium is at 24.56% max. Is that too low?

Ok so I finally got the calcium but they sent me the wrong stuff! They sent me Calcium WITH D3... so now I have to wait longer. So far I've had the cham since last friday he had calcium with D3 on friday and then a multivitamin on wednesday and up til now I've just been gutloading with greens and carrots in hopes that there is some calcium in that.

So I really need help I bought cuttlebone but it has 98% max ash is this ok to supplement with??
