Fiona's Homecoming Surprise

Fiona's Mom

Chameleon Enthusiast
I have been away for a little over three weeks. Before I left I posted that I was looking for someone to board Fiona. A fellow CF member Chase volunteered. He has been the best. He has loads of experience with chameleons and I had no worries of her care...I can't thank him enough. He is bringing her home tomorrow and since I have been home I have been working on Fiona's new 24x24x48" enclosure. She will love all the room and new places to explore. I will be putting in more branches to climb on but I am waiting for some Neodymium magnets I've ordered to hang them with. I am attaching first a photo of Fiona in her old enclosure and the second photo is of her new one do far. IMG_20160625_141528.jpg IMG_20160625_141528.jpg IMG_20160810_124615.jpg

What a nice coming home present. She will love it.

I bet you have missed her. Three weeks is like forever. I miss my guys when I have to go to work.

OMG...I never realized how much I would miss her. Chase has been wonderful  about keeping me updated. I think he also has her addicted to discoid roaches:eek:. She had never had them before because I HATE roaches, but since she loves them I am going to attempt to breed some.:( Can't wait to see her tomorrow.

Don't think of them as roaches, but crickets that are dressed up for Halloween.

:ROFLMAO:I am going to try...what a Mom has to do to keep her baby happy.

It took me a bit to get used to them but I can honestly say that the crickets creeped me out more. The smaller sizes don't bother me at all, they remind me of rollie pollies. It's only the adult males that I can't stand to touch. And since my cham never eats them that big, and unless I am breeding them then I don't have reason to have them around. I love that I can order 500 at a time and never get any dead ones, they grow really slow, are easy to gut load and maintain, they don't crawl out of anything with slick sides and they don't stink! When I do clean out their bin I just throw on some rubber gloves to scoop them into another container while I clean out their bin. I was putting on the gloves to even touch them at first but I got over that fast.
