Well almost. I need to do a couple touch up spots and a couple more coats of varathane on the inside of the bottom door. Didn't have time today. Hence the masking tape which I should have pulled off for teh pics, I'm going to have to reapply it, apparently it didn't like zipping down the hwy strapped to the top of my van for 60km very much.

The cage is 4 feet high (actual cage, not from floor to top) 3 feet wide, 2 feet deep. Has two levels for corner shelves to go in. The bottom is an external aluminum tray, I included a more detailed pic for those of you interested in drip trays. It will house an adult female veiled. So far just have the pothos for it, plan on getting a hibiscus and a ficus. Have some various wood and branches for more climbing as well.

detail of the bottom. The aluminum is broken across both diagonals with holes drilled for drainage. Just need to put a bucket underneath.

My only concern is that it might be cool. Aluminum tends to be cold, but we'll see once I get a the heat light set up and see how that affects it. If not I might have to put some sort of peel n stick tiles or something over it.

just put some tiles or vinyl on top but let water drain threw them holes still or something

lol! He gets that about everything he's built me. I have an awesome aluminum grooming table that he built me that everyone fawns over at teh dog shows...as well as a cart for hauling everything into the buildings. He's one of those ppl you can say "I need X but I don't know how to go about building it" and he whips up a drawing and says "oh that's easy".

He's retired so I don't think he'll go into mass producing bottom trays...sorry.

Well after what seems like weeks that I've been workign on this enclosure, I finally got my order, got my plants and got everything assembled today. Amazing how different (and small) a huge cage can look with all the plants etc in it. And thrilled to find out my new girl (veiled) has found herself a way over the island next Saturday! I'm so excited. Anyways, here's her cage, will update next week once she arrives adn settles in.
