On a recent thread I read that one large (4 inch, 10 gram) hornworm is enough for two days. Is this true?
My WC 2 1/2 yr old Cap Est male is a VERY, VERY finicky eater, in the 4 months I have owned him the only thing I can get him to eat regularly are hornworms, superworms or silkworms, he will eat 4 or 5 large horn/silk worms or as many superworms as I will feed him, then the next day he may eat one or two of whatever I offer. I try to feed a variety of food, I free range dusted crickets and dubia daily (about 7 or 8 large crickets and 1 or 2 adult female dubia) and usually find a most left in the evening and remove them. I have only once seen him eat a dubia.
He has what I have determined to be a gular edema, which I was told was fat from him eating too many superworms so I should not feed them to him. I have fed him a few when I worry that he is not eating enough, but I try to avoid them.
Back to the original question, If I cut him down to one large horn/silk worm daily, will he be amply enough fed but still hungry enough that he would start eating dubia and crickets?
