Congratulations on your new friend! What kind of chameleon? Captive bred?
You need a lot more cover high in the cage. Either buy a live plant that is taller (or raise it up on a stand) or fill in the top with artificial plants. They really need someplace to hide so they can feel safe. You can make stronger perches across and use them to attach the shorter plants up near the top.
I am not a fan of dowels or bamboo as perches. They are often too slick for them to grip. Plus it is all the same size, so doesn't give their feet a variety for exercise, and they do need a variety of sizes of perches. (I have parrots, incorrectly sized perches are a huge health problem with birds.) I use natural oak branches (with the bark) plus the fake bendy vines as well as live plants. A ficus or an hibiscus that goes right up to the top is not very expensive. My favorite is an hibiscus--it's a great plant for chameleons, great branching on an older (or pruned) one. They are a high-light plant, but you can rotate two through the cage or just buy a new one every few months.
Depending on the chameleon species you are getting, you might end up with a water problem at the bottom of the cage.
Unless you have really good lighting for plants, don't expect them to grow well. Soggy roots will also kill the plants.

The bottem is substrate devider lets water pass ive added alot of perlite to pass easy irrigation.i put rocks in top of dvider to keep coverage of so , I need more rocks.. I'm bottem part of cage I have a drawer that collects water as it passes through containers i live in minnesota just started warming up to go in woods and find sticks .i plan on doing so though in soon. Cage size is 3ft wide 2 feet deep 21/2 feet tall
