Its a male, I was supposed to buy 2, but the only breeder here in the Philippines ran out of baby females. I bought it for $125 shipped(with all the permits/registration/vet/plane fees). Not bad for something rare here.

Please dont laugh at my noob level, cuz I know some of you got hundreds of big and beautiful ones. lol

(first 2 pics are from the container he was shipped with, dont worry, its not my enclosure! lol)

He's georgous! He looks very healthy too. Congrats!! I get to go pick my baby boy up this weekend. Does he have a name?

How handsome! What Island are you on, and which one did he ship from? We have friends in Angeles City, Mindanao, Manila, and Guadalupe Cebu City. Would love to see your set up, too. Are you able to acquire typical mesh enclosures there or will you create your own? What does he like to eat?

Be sure to mist him very well. His poo looks a little tar-like, and the urates a little yellow. But that would all be likely due to the shipping. He looks very healthy and his eyes and casque look great.

My gf wanna name him. She will do so when she sees him, cuz now, she is in hospital duty(a nurse).

Question though, cuz its night here when I got him, what time of the day would he start feeding? Anytime? And based on experience, do you guys put the food container near them first so they can see it; or do they always find it anyway?

Just got him like a few hours ago(around 8:30 pm!), so didnt get the chance to feed him.

Im from Cebu, and hey, my gf is from Guadalupe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of the cage, I got myself a medium sized bird cage, and covered it with aluminum screen/mesh. Ill get a bigger cage when he is bigger, cuz according to the book I bought, he might have a hard time looking for the food dish if its big enough for him, esp. since he is a baby.

His poo is a bit dried up though, probably, as you said, during shipping. Ill check a fresh one soon.

Ours like to warm up under the basking light for about an hour before eating. For a new situation, I generally show the cham the feeder cup and then place it while the cham watches me so he knows where it is. But I don't know that it is necessary to do that.

One of my goals is to visit the Philippines. My husband is an ordained minister and our church has churches there. Once a year our church org sponsors an Asian conference, usually in the PI. I would love to go some year.
