Well its gorgeous here today. Mid 60s sunny so im think im going to a nearby nature preserve and try to find some wild bugs for the cham. I gotta find someone that sells sweeper nets though. Does anyone know if the big box pet stores carry them?

I bought a pond net from Petsmart on clearance that works great for field sweeping.

I didn think about pond nets tanks guys/gals. Hey hows it going up in Big D. today Draet? You gonna let the chams get som sun?

I use Children's butterfly nets from a local "dollar store" type chain. Cheap, last one or two years - depending on how forceful I am with them during grasshopper season.

Oh yeah, did you get some bugs? I found a few pill bugs and that was about it. I don't think it's warm enough yet in DFW. Today it's been raining all day, yuk!

i have used those also. they fall apart after a couple of uses. I think a retractble pool cleaning pole and a pool skimmer net will work and last much longer. i got one yesterday, actually i had the retrectble pole already.

Small stuff, no luck w/hoppers. I could of got some butterflies but im not good at identifying what is safe to feed. So i cant take advantage of those.I really only stayed out there about 30-45 mins though. I think it is still too early also. I cant believe i found that huge katydid last week. He must of emerged early. lol I will try next weekend if it doesnt rain.
