Few questions

I just bought my baby veiled chameleon today.:D

And I was wondering how many medium crickets/mealworms and such should I feed him at a time?

And he has a pretty big cage compared to his size, and I was wondering if he'd be able to find his food alright?.....Well as I was typing this he hunted down all four I originally put in the with him, so maybe that isnt an issue.

Baby veiled's will eat 10-20 appropriately sized crickets per day. The cricket should be no bigger than the distance between it's eyes. Mine was up to around 30 1/4 inch a day before I moved up to the next size.

I got mine at around 2 months and it has been in a 2 X 1.5 X 2.5 cage since I got him. He hasn't had any problems finding the food.

There are mixed feelings on meal worms. Some think they should only be used as a treat or very small part of their diet and other think they are OK as a staple feeder.

Also I Plan to mist his cage about 5 times a day, but when I have misted his cage the water only seems to stay there for 5-10 minutes I have a dripper almost constantly dripping(it seems it's either off, drip after drip, or constant flow) but that only really seems to get a small portion of his leaves

I'm wondering if he'll get enough water.

Right now he's chillen and is a very vibrant lime green so I think he's happy:)

Anybody care to share there misting schedule?

I hand mist as well. and use adripper. I hand mist 5 times a day, for about 2 minutes each time. this totally soaks the cage. and do you use a cup with a hole iin the bottom, or an actual dripper?

I mist 4 to 5 times a day for a few minutes each time. I also use a dripper. I've only seen him drinking a few times but his urates are always bright white so he's getting enough water.

Then no worries. if you really are concerned, you can put a shower liner on two sides of the cage, this will make the cage dry slowe.r

Should I change the water in my mister/dripper daily? Or use what's in it till it runs out?

Also what do you guys have at the bottom of your cages? I saw some reptile carpet or something at the store the other day, I have paper towels now

Thanks a bunch guys
