Fertilizing eggs question

If a female veiled chameleon is looking gravid like she has eggs in her.. and you introduce her to a male, would he fertilize those current eggs in her? or would it be too late at that point? Would you pair the 2 together before then she would produce eggs after the breeding? or she will ignore him until she is about to produce eggs then is receptive to the male? Just questions, Thanks! :)

All I can suggest is that you hold the female outside the males cage so they can see each other and watch the reactions. If the female turns dark I. The background, rocks back and forth, lunges at the male, etc then she is not receptive and won't want to mate...so put her back into her own cage. If she remains calm, brightens her colors, moves slowly away from the male then she is likely receptive. If she's receptive, look at the male to see how he's is behaving towards her. If he's not aggressive but seems interested in her you can try putting her in his cage but be ready to remove her quickly if things turn bad. If they are fine together you can leave the female there until she start repelling the male. I usually watch for a while when they are first together to make sure thing are going well.

Whether she will accept him depends on how far along she is in her reproductive cycle.
If she accepts him and produces fertile eggs she could still produce more fertile eggs in the next batch she lays.
