so i cought my chameleon rubing her eyes and then sneezing and now she keeps her mouth open when shes under the light, but as son i go near her to misst her she closses it and runs off , what can this be?

what do you mean sneezing? Holding mouth open when she is under the basking light probably means you have the temps too high. When they are overheated they will do that. If she is like coughing and keeping her mouth open she may have a repiratory infection. Does she only do it under the light? What are your temperatures?.

i keep my temp btwn the 80-100 but the problem was that i noticed i cant keep the lamps on top of the cage i gotta find a way to propaly put it so she gets the best light also im using one light for the uvb and basking light no she hasnt been coughing but sneezzing and sometimes rubs her eyes on the branchest.
Im also not using two difrent produts for the dusting of the crickets RECOMENDED BY EVERYONE! -_____- But umm.. yeaa i do a light dusting for every crickets and i gut load them, with fruits and veggies and some product that has vit and keeps them hydred but im not sure if im doin a good job or where i can find a vet who ACTUALY KNOWS ABOUT CHAMELEONS.-__- I live in New York by the way so its hard to even find some where were they sell them , such a big search to find one and then got mad because i end up finding one in petsmart -__-? really travel even out of state!no where -__-!

100 degrees is WAY too hot even for an adult Veild. You need to figure out a way to get your cage temps down in to the mid 70's and your basking temp at about 85 degrees max. Most likely he is too hot and is trying to cool down by opening his mouth. How do you know you chameleon has broken ribs? Did the vet do x rays?

Yes i think you are right i have try to fix the light fixture but im going to try to figure this out but yea the vet said that and no she did not take x rays because she said it would be 250 for each x rays and for all that money she recomended to just buy a new one and on top of that she said even if the x rays do confirm this is true theres nothing you can do about broken rips so she says and so she recomended using the vit.A with d3 everyday for my crickets dusting... what do u think?
