Female veiled vomiting

Hi, I have noticed in the last week that when my female veiled eats she starts to open her mouth real wide while thrashing her neck around and eventually will throw up her food.

Female veiled, 7 mo. old
usually eats 2-3 dubia roaches a day.
calcium everyday, with d3 once a wk.
misted twice daily
basking lamp and repti-glo 5.0
large screen enclosure

She has a good appetite but has started this vomiting thing. I thought maybe the nymphs were too large so I have been feeding smaller ones but she is still throwing some of them up.

Any ideas is appreciated. Thanks

What are you gutloading with? Have you ever had a fecal sample tested for parasites? Any chance of pesticides or chemicals getting in? Have you only fed 2-3 roaches a day? No other variety? That's not a lot for a 7 month old at all.........

It is around 85f in the basking area. The roaches are gutloaded with roach chow and oranges. I also give her crickets every few weeks for a variety. She is offered more but usually won't eat more than 3. I have not had her tested for parasites, and don't know of any way any chemicals or pesticides could gt to her.

When did you first notice vomiting? Do you have any substrate? If you can't work it out I'd have to suggest going to a vet......

That's weird then, I can't say I know any other reasons she would be vomiting. I think a vet appointment as soon as possible is in order, try to find someone that has experience with chameleons somewhere nearby.

hey just reading ur post and i was wondering what the vet had said? my male veiled has been doing the same thing.... ive only noticed it for the last day but im very worried

Agent, Welcome to the board!

I'd like to suggest you start a new thread and complete the "How to Ask for Help" form.

It will make things less confusing. The experienced people here really need that information and until you provide it, you'll be asked question after question because nothing is easy or straightforward when it comes to what is wrong with your chameleon. Copying those questions, pasting them into a POST and adding your responses will not completely eliminate questions, but it will help a lot.

I was also wondering what the vet had to say. My 10 month old female veiled has also been vomitting.

you also should fill out the ask for help form in the health section. What the vet says about the other members chameleon may not pertain to yours.
