Female veiled laying eggs in plants... ok?

When I first got my female veiled chameleon I made up a bucket with the right soil mixture and convenient access so she could lay eggs. She picked one of the pothos plants instead and deposited all her eggs into its soil. That process ruined the plant, but since then I've just let her use the plants for eggs and she seems to be doing fine. Anyone have any thoughts for or against this?
