We have 2 veileds, one male & one female. We purchased them both in January and were told they were about 6 weeks old. That puts them about 5 1/2 months old.
The male is smaller then the female by probably 1/3 to 1/2 weight. Female always ate well and was filled out nice. Male always looked skinny. I started feeding them separately so the male could get crickets.
Sunday afternoon I noticed the female kinda laying off the side of her branch instead of on top like normal. She looked to be sleeping. Sunday night same spot so I woke her up. She is usually spooky but she slowly clinged to my hand & I got her out. She was very shaky, lethargic and almost like dizzy. Her rear hips seem protruding and there are some bumps on a couple of her ribs down from her spine. I thought maybe she fell?
She just layed in my hand holding on which is rare. I took her to the kitchen and ran some lukewarm water on her. She reached up and took a couple sips. I put her back & she barely moved except for going after 1 left over cricket but she definately had problems climbing.
Mon she didnt change much. Today I dusted crickets and fed them both. Anytime the male got in her sight, she puffed up and had her mouth open wide. She's still lethargic but seems to be eating & drinking. Her color is very light green until the male is near then shes darker with spots & lines.
Is she pregnant? How do I know if she has eggs? Are there other things I need to look for? Does she have broken ribs? Calcium deficient? I dont have a egg container for her yet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Their bulb burned out Monday so we need to get a new uvb bulb & maybe vitamins?
Thanks
