Female vailed chameleon year and a half old started hanging out on the bottom of her cage and digging. She started about a week ago when i put some temperary aspen substrate in her cage she would go to the bottem and dig in it. When i switched back to coconut husks substrate it got worse she started spending most of her time on the bottem digging and just sitting there she climbs up to her basking spot every now and then but does not stay there long. She also stopped getting excited about me hand feeding her unless i have a giant grasshopper or somthing in my hand. I caught her sleeping today wich concerns my greatly. Any info will help thanks.

I think it has been a long time.

Get a plastic garbage can, dump in some potting soil or playsand, get it the right dampness, stick a few sticks into the soil and put her in and leave her alone.

There is no time to waste--please do it immediately.

Also, dig a few little starter tunnels at a 45 degree angle at the base of some of the sticks.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is for you to do this immediately, not tonight, not tomorrow.

I've been following this thread, and I'm really happy to know she's safe! :)

Cheers man, and don't worry, we all make mistakes!
