  • Your Chameleon - female panther chameleon, about a year old, Ive had her for about 6 months
  • Handling - not very often when I first got her she did not like it but after she had her first clutch of eggs she has been a lot sweeter but still once a week at most.
  • Feeding - about 10 crickets every day mixed in with some meal worms and small Dubai roaches and recently have switched to medium Dubai roaches bring her staple. Every morning or when I got home from school she would eat as soon as I put the food in her sight but has eaten a lot less and hasn’t seemed as excited about it and the last 5 days would only eaten a few meal worms
  • Supplements - rep-cal phosphorus free calcium
  • Watering - a dripper along with multiple daily sprayings. And yes I do see her drink from both, recently been very busy, only the past week and haven’t gotten to give her the same attention and missed a few sprayings, and can’t remember if I had seen her drink this week. So I gave her a warm bath today with pedialyte and vitamins she drank some of this water and sprayed her down in her cage and she drank a ton.
  • Fecal Description - last poop was today very small and runny looking after she drank a lot of water, hadn’t pooped in about a week until today.
  • History - she laid her very first clutch about one month ago of 24 eggs. She had been digging for a few days and laid a few eggs on top of the soil and on the floor of her cage. She then finally the next day dug and laid 18 eggs correctly at the very bottom of the bucket and ate and drank like normal the next day

  • Issue- she hasn’t been eating properly the last few days and is very pale in color. She is just sitting under the light w her arms not rlly grabbing on to the branch and leaning to one side like she has no strength. Wondering if she still has eggs so I just put her bin back into her enclosure. Any help is appreciated thank you!!

From what I have gathered, you are feeding her too much. I'd feed about 10 medium or large crickets or something equal to that every other day. I'm new to taking care of these animals though, so please don't take my advice and definitely get another opinion on that! If that supplement you are using has D3, I'd recommend using it only once a month and getting another supplement without D3 to replace that. Again, please get another opinion! I do hope you find out what's wrong. This is all the help I can offer.

Hey there.
Whenever we ask for help here we typically fill out the entirety of the following questionnaire. If you do this, it’s going to be a more proactive approach to getting help once people read this.

I would love to see more pics of her. She looks very large in that underneath shot.

Any other things that might be contributing to your cham’s issue can be better resolved if we know more about your husbandry.

Finish filling this out and we’ll go from there.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Welcome @aubslemond im sorry to hear your girl is not feeling well .

few changes to be made but first let’s see why she might not be feeling well ?? When did she lay ?? How long after did you notice her not feeling well ?? Do you have a good exotic vet ?? If so I would get an appointment set up with x-rays and asked to have a fecal done ?

The other thing I would like to note is no soaking . It’s not a natural occurrence , they do not Absorb/hydrate through their skin as other reptiles do . There would be no benefit and less you had a prolapse in it that you would not soak the whole chameleon. It’s very stressful and could cause more of a decline in health . I’m also going to tag a few other keepers @jannb @JoXie411 @Brodybreaux25 .
I have not touch on what needs to be changed if anyone can lend a hand please .

I made two threads by mistake and the others that were helping had chose https://www.chameleonforums.com/posts/1550572/ to respond on since it was getting confusing lol. And thank you, ya I have never soaked her before or would ever usually but someone on here I had seen suggested it, and I had rehabbed a Uromastyx lizard (I know completely different) but baths are what saved his life. And it did get her to drink her water, but noted I definitely won’t try that again.
