Female Question

I have an almost nine month old panther female. She is almost ready to lay her second batch of eggs.

Obviously laying at that rate is not good for her. From what I understand most people reduce the feeding and basking temps to curb the laying.

My issue that at nine months she may not be fully grown, so i don't want to stop feeding her as much as she can eat.

What are your thoughts?

Are the eggs infertile or did you breed her?

Infertile eggs will not take as much as a toll on her body was fertile eggs will.

Great question, did you breed her or are they infertile. I am guessing that she was bred or possibly in constant view of a male. I have never had a female produce 2 infertile clutches by the time she was 9 month old.

I would concentrate on quality gutloaded insects properly dusted. You will not have to feed her a ton but she will still grow at a reasonable and healthy rate.

Sorry for the late reply I was out of town last week with limited access. She has never been bred. Both clutches are infertile.

I reduce food and heat at around 5 months of age and then again around 8 months old. I feed all my adults, male and female three times week.
