What do you guys think? Gravid or just receptive? She has been wandering quite a bit lately and Hugh whom is right next to her cage has been wandering as well... There is a visual barrier but they do know who's on the other side of the brown paper. :)

She mostly is this color but does lighten up a bit at times and she despises me so anytime I get close she darkens up a bit.

Just recorded this and I think she is receptive... At first she gaped and hissed because my hand went near her but once she noticed Hugh it looked like she went up and got ready, lol! Sorry about the shakyness but I was trying to manage the camera while trying to manage Hugh going crazy trying to get to Darla with the other.

If she sways back and forth when he gets near her and if she turns black then you know she's no receptive. But she does look receptive in the video. Did you let them mate?

No I did not... I'm not ready to have them mate and don't think they are quite ready either. Hugh is only a bit over 10 months old and Darla is about 10 I think i'll let them get a bit older and make sure Darla gets the hang of the whole laying thing first. :D Thank you! :)

I cut the basking temp and and cut the basking lamp back to 6hrs a day to slow egg production. That first panther clutch can get spendy!! It's good to wait till your ready!

Sorry I can't watch the vid on my phone but the pic screams gravid. If she is gravid, she will let you know loud and clear. She will despise the sight of the male.

Did only setting the basking lamp for 6 hours really work? I'm worried she won't get the temps for her to feel comfortable. Her basking bulb is a lower wattage than my males though.

I am definately not ready right now and sure do not know if i'll still be ready in 9 months so yes, good idea. :D Once my bf is done with school, gets going with his career, and we get a bigger place, i'll consider it. :)

In the picture she is quite upset with me being around... If I even come close to her cage she'll darken up a bit so that isn't a good picture. In the video you can see her react to my hand by hissing and gaping but as soon as she notices Hugh on my hand, she climbs up to a vine, lightens up, and sort of sits there like "I'm ready!".

My girl is pretty much always this color and I know she is younger than yours or about the same. I can't remember. I think she is receptive too.
