Is there any correlation between female panthers that exhibit more brilliant coloration (i.e. blue or purple cheek and body spotting) producing higher colored offspring? The sire, of course, is the one that is always depicted when it comes time to market the offspring. Certain females will show more of an array of colors but I have never heard if that actually translates into better colored offspring. I have to assume that the dam's genetics plays an equal part in determining what the offspring will eventually look like. For those long-term panther breeders, do you look at the female's colors as any possible marker for producing better looking babies?
