Female not laying fertile eggs after mating

Hi!!
Been a while since I have been on here but was after some advice from anyone if they had any to give.

I have a 2 year old Ambilobe female who is very healthy and is great. Has dropped may clutches of fertile eggs for me in the past and 99% of the babies have been healthy and fine.

I have mated her with my male Ambilobe and my male Nosy Be (come at me bro) several times over the last few months and seen them in the process of mating so I know this has happened. The problem I am having is that the last three clutches of eggs have all been infertile. I know how to spot the difference between fertile and infertile and they are definitely duds. This is really confusing me as she has had no problems before and is otherwise in great health.

Can anyone offer any advice as to why this may be happening? I know there could be many factors there just may be things for me to consider for the nest time when I pair them up.

Thanks in advance.

You may need to have them mate a few more times and if the female resists, then you know to stop. But the most times you should do is two times. Sorry if I was no help. (y)

Even at only two years old since you have mated her so much and you said she had many clutched, it might just be time to retire her and let the poor girl rest.

Sorry for the late reply. I think she has mated about 5 times in her lifetime maximum? She's had clutches from retained sperm on most occasions... maybe 3 or 4 over the course of a year. I ALWAYS give her time to rest and re-couperate and she is extremely healthy. The last fertile clutch she dropped was about December last year.

Also, I was thinking of retiring her anywhere so maybe this is her way of saying thankyou very much but I want to chill now. :)

Maybe your males are shooting blanks! It takes two, if she's laying infertile eggs & that's her part, then my thoughts would be your males! Female chickens lay infertile eggs all the time! No males no fertile eggs! Jmt!!!!!
