I just weighed my Ambanja female that was 53.1g on 10/24. It is 5 days later and 1.5 days with the laing bin .

I just weighed her and she is 32.4g. She still looks fat. I didn't feel any eggs. I never tried before. Do you think she laid?

Any suggestions???

I guess start digging???

no eggs in the dirt. I didn't feel any in her.

She is black and orange . Acts Gravid around the male. Turns darker black with more of it than orange. I'm clueless

Wow. Keep the laying bin in there and wait it out, so it seems. I have heard of females laying in their plants....they like laying under root balls. Have you checked any plants you have?

They have big rocks on top so I doubt it. I better check. I am curious if I am having aprobelm with my scale . don't know.

Hey Ryan. Did you sift through the whole bin:rolleyes: Im sure you did. My woman will still show gravid colors after laying for quite some time. I would check your scale if she is still as fat as she was the last time you weighed her. You can really notice it in my female after she lays. GOOD LUCK!

Did you check her feet? I always look for dirt on the Cham, especially on her feet, this is a good sign that shes has been digging. Also I noticed right after mine lay, they seem to have looser skin, from all the eggs being gone. I would maybe replace the digging bin with another, so you can really excavate fully and see if you can find any. I have dug and dug before and almost thought that she didnt lay, until I found that tiny clump of eggs tucked away at the deepest corner of the bin... I was almost about to conclude she didn't lay, then there they were.

Like we had talked about before...You can expect her to act Gravid...Sometimes for a few weeks after laying while she is recouping from the whole process. Good Luck man... Just make sure she still has a place to lay at all times just in case.

Ryan, check that bin again. The only way a female could loose 20g in 5 days is laying eggs unless something is seriously wrong. Ive had to scoop out an entire bin, cup by cup, to find a clutch that was buried opposite side i saw her tunneling in.

Thanks everyone I dug out the entire bin. no eggs at all.

She was clean as can be, no dirt on her at all. I thought of that half way through the bucket. I still finished it the entire thing. What a pain.

here is what I am thinking happened. Thanks to all of your help.

I found out , today the air conditioner was out for a few hours today. It reached 81 in the house. On top of that my mister res was empty.

I saw it go off that night and in the morning. It must of ran out then. She may be seriously dehydrated. I have given her extra mistings since I got home at 2pm.

I am also doubting if she is gravid. I couldn't feel any eggs. Maybe she laid a clutch before I got her and she is just unreceptive? Is that possible?

This is her , what does everyone think.

MY SCALE IS OFF!!!

Its off about .5 g per 1g ($1.00 only weighed .5 - should be 1g). So that would mean she is 64.8 g or so . For a total of 11.7g bigger since I weighed her last. Turns out 1 watering at 12:30 was missed and she was watered at 2:30. Maybe a little dehydration. It was 81 for a few hours.

My scale wasn't working on Tuesday and then it started up again after a reset.

Anyway I still didn't feel any eggs. Can some one explain how and where I should feel?

Yeah a scale is another reason she could be so drastically different in weight :D. I gave you the benefit of the doubt LOL. As for palpating, I just grab on to them and lightly squeeze their gut area and just feel around. If she has eggs in her, most of the time you'll know for sure but sometimes you can feel nothing and theyll whip out a small surprise clutch. Try to get her as relaxed as possible when you do it otherwise shell tighten up her "abs" and it makes the area to still to feel anything. I try to palpate them while theyre chillin out on their basking spot cause they seem to be most relaxed and if you approach slowly, some females dont seem to mind, even during their "im pissed off no one &$#* with me" stage. Let me know how it gos.

I was thinking to tell you to zero out your scale before I read your last post.

My female is huge, and had clutches of 36 and 32 with 1 maiting, but I could see a few little bumps on her underside right before her hind leggs a few days before she actually laid. As I could make out the lumps, I could obviously feel little bumps in her belly in the same region just by using my index and thumb and moving them back and forth with soft pressure and just very slighly moving her skin..
