Female Jackson's.

Okay, this isn't my Chameleon, but it's a good friends female Jackson's Chameleon. We are having a hard time deciding which sub-species it actually is. We know it's not a Trioceros Jacksonii Xanthelophus but what about Mt. Kenyan or Mt. Meru?

More pictures please! It doesnt strike me as xanth though, so I believe you are right about that. Up close full body, from the side would help.

I remember reading in a thread on here how to tell which was which - I'll see if I can find it. The female of one species has 3 horns, another has one horn (which iirc I think is Mt Meru) and the Xanths usually have none or a very tiny nub. I will post again if I can find any more info!

I take it back. Heres my xanth when she was young, right after bringing her home. Looks similar.

Lots of people are convinced they have a fancy jackson, but more often than not it's a xanth. Most people with Merus or jacksonii are well aware of what they are when they're sold because they're uncommon. What makes them so certain it's not a xanth?
