Hello,
I've had my female veiled chameleon (Rubik) for about 5 months now and recently she has been keeping both her eyes shut and has been a little more lethargic than usual, she is also far paler than normal. I know this means she is sick but I can't call the vet till monday because they aren't open on the weekends. Even when I call them who knows when i'll be able to get get an appointment. Her eyes are not sunken in at all so I don't believe it is dehydration, but there is a blue tinge to the bottom of her eyes, possibly an infection in both of them though i can not remember if they were always like that. Any help on what it could possibly be will be greatly appreciated.
few other questions i have right now.
-She maybe gravid as her resting position is slightly inflated, I have a sand box down for her to use, as well as moss, but I'm not sure if she can find it due to her eyes. Can holding eggs and the eyes be related? I doubt it, but it would be nice to know for sure.
-Also I could too much UVB be causing the eye problems?
- It is 80 in my house right now, warmer in her cage. Can it be too warm for a chameleon.
Thanks for your help.
