Feeding young veiled

Hello everyone!

I recently acquired a 3 month old male veiled :D. He's currently on a diet of small crickets which I'm giving flukers high calcium cricket diet and cricket quencher (I'm providing other veggies and oats as well but the bulk of their diet is the flukers supplements). He is eating and drinking well but I wanted to know what the ideal amount to be giving him was as I'm worried about over/under-feeding him. He's currently eating about 5 or six on average per day. Is that enough? And what else should I be giving him to ensure his health?

Thank you! :)

FOr now, let him eat as much as he wants.
babies have been known to gobble up 20+ small crickets a day.

yo dont need to worry about over feeding until hes alot older.

you want as much bug variety as possible.

dubia roaches, hornworms, silkworms, house flies (that you buy, not find in your house) waxworms, phenoix worms, superowrms, all are good (within reason)

no one bug should make up more than 40% of their diet.

Okay, thank you very much! And he's allowed those alternatives at his age and size? He's a little on the runty side. Are butterworms okay too?

Hello, welcome to the forum :) He should be allowed anything that he can fit in his mouth so all those feeders are ok, as long as they are an appropriate size. General rule of thumb is no longer than the space between his eyes. For worms use his head length. Soft-bodied worms like the silks and butterworms can be a bit bigger. As far as nutrition is concerned you need to get your calcium supplements worked out.
The Flukers stuff is pretty poor for a gutload. There are much better commercial options - search 'cricket crack' or repashy 'bug burger'.
