Feeding Questions?

Currently little 4 month old Sun Shine is doing really well, eats like a pig - however I have some diet questions.

I just purchased Reptivite w/o D3 - however it has calcium in it, is this ok for every feeding? or should I just get a solely calcium powder?
I already have calcium w/ D3 that I am dusting the crickets with about twice a week.

Crickets are bought on Sunday feed around 8 crickets everyday, restock on crickets following sunday. I gut load em with Flukers Orange cubes - says hydration, fats, and vitamins for crickets and chams who eat them.

Does this sound ok? or should I be making changes?

You should be gutloading with more than the orange cubes. Fresh veggies like kale, collard greens and carrots should be used along with fruit. Here is a site that has ca: phos ratio. I'll get back to you on the dusting stuff if no one else does.

just stay away from brocolli, spinach, and tomatoes.

EDIT: oops, this is the link with ca: phos. That link has other charts too.

I wouldn't use the reptivite only because it has vitamin A.

Reptivite has preformed vitamin A in it and that can build up in the system...but I don't know if there is enough of it in it to do any harm. For years I have used Rep-Cal calcium without D3 at most feedings, Rep-cal calcium/D3 twice a month and Herptivite twice a month.

Chameleon will usually eat much more when they are experiencing growth period, Don't surprise if your pet consuming 15-20 large cricket this time..
gut-loading is other option :)

However, you should not feed her 15-20. Ten crickets max will be okay. Cut it back to 6-8 every other day to prevent egg laying when she turn 6 months.

Slower grown animals tend to live longer and healthier lives. MBD can also be linked to growing too fast. No point in playing with fire :)
