Feeding Question

I just got a male Veil at the pomona show. Not sure how old he is, forgot to ask but his body is about 3 inches long. If I place a cricket on a branch he goes for it right away. How do you know for sure he is eating the rest of the crickets, the seem to stay at the bottom of the cage and hide under the plant base. I mist the cage every 4 hours or so but he does not seem to like being misted, but I make sure the leaves have water on them. It's a live plant I also got at the show. Just looking for some advice, I want him to be healthy. Thanks

As long as your cage isnt too large for him to find the bugs he'll be fine. When you clean the cage weekly check to see how many uneatten cricks are under the planter. Feed accodingly, in other words give him a few extras to make sure they make up for the ones he wont get to before they hide. I do that for babies because until they hit about 3 -4 mos they sometimes arent the greatest hunters. Or you could try cup feeding as suggested. Some take to it others just wont do it.
