Has anyone ever tried putting a Hibiscus plant in with there Chameleon to eat? I saw in a few articles that its good to put in one of these plants for them to eat but then again I never really trust articles so I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas on it??

If your using it for the panther in your avatar pic then he most likely wont eat any plant material. Panthers will very rarely eat plants or fruits/veggies. Now veiled's are a different story. Many veiled will eat plants and such. Some never will though, it depends on the chameleon.

I had a hibiscus in with my little veiled guy and every afternoon there were a few more bites out of the leafs. He loved to chew on it. But you do have to take it out of the enclosure from time to time for sun light and such to keep it healthy.

My female panther eats she share of plants.
No clue why really.
None of the others do anymore then a nibble a month.
She'll have a bite or two daily.
Strange girl.

Same here! I need to get a new one because he tottaly devoured the old one. Right now I only have a shcleffera or however you spell it.

I have two hibiscus plants in with my Veiled and she loves eating the flowers. They're safe, tasty, and good for chams so if you have a veiled they'll love eating the leaves and flowers.

Go for it. Some panthers do eat plant material. Make sure the leaves are washed from all pesticides and spray ferts.

hibiscus leaves are actually quite healthy/nutritious. Flowers are less nutritious but do no harm
