Feeding Crix while away?

I found a way that works. I was afraid that some days I would be long getting home from work and I would worry that Ozzie was going hungry......I know he wouldn't starve but I am a worry wart so whatever eases my mind while at work is worth a million. Any-who I went looking for something that could hang off of a branch but at the same time something that if Ozzie fell in he could get back out and something that the crickets couldn't get out.

Well I stopped by Michael's craft store on my way home from work and I found the perfect solution and at first since it is clear Ozzie kept zapping his tongue on the side of it trying to get the crickets and then he finally figured it out....my smart lil man :) I got a shot of him just after he finished all but one lil cricket:D

Just be very careful because he may not remember that tomorrow or the next day and he can injure his tongue shooting at the outside of the cup.

cute pic!! i will be teaching my chams to cup feed as of tomorrow, they have done it on occasion so shouldnt be too much trouble.i will be going back to work at the mine soon and be gone for 16 hrs a day 4 on 4 off with alternating nights so i want them to learn to cup feed so that i can better monitor their food intake while im working..it will also eliminate the few dead crix that end up on bottom of enclosures making clean up even easier..also when i drop in a cpl super worm treats they wont be able to escape :) im sure gonna miss my babies when im at work..will be me rushing in to make sure they are ok and happy the second i come home! being away from them is gonna kill me :( i will take comfort in the fact that they really wont give a crap and will enjoy the solitude :p no mommy to keep looking at them all the time lol

Ok thats a great idea I just thought since it was clear that he would see the crickets easy. I wonder if he will remember that I put crickets in there. This morning he went straight to it and went to get the crickets through the top of the bucket :)
paint or tape the outside of the container so that it is opaque.

i got a "parrot " feeder cup from the bird section at the pet store. its dark brown and has two peices of wire sticking of cup.(i guess to go through the bars of a parrot cage) but i just poked the wires straight through the screen mesh up by his branches, works great. only $1.99. cant see crickets or worms through it, only if hes sitting above it on his branch. and the dark brown blends nice in his cage.
