Feeding Bowl

What type of feeding bowl do you use that won't drown the feeders when water gets in it? It is hard to find a place in the cage that H2O doesn't get into!
Did you make one with screen on the bottom, or is there one out there someone has found?

Use a super worm cup and just place pin holes in the bottom of it. That's what I use :)

When I cup feed I take the cup out when im misting. Or if the cage is a mesh one you can just throw the crix or whatever in there and let em run around.

Screen cages is hard to remove the cup for every watering since 99% of the cups are held on by string of some sort that is knot tied.

Here is what I do:

1. Get a Deli Cup of choice.

2. If you have transparent cup like mine. Paint the outside (I use acrylic paint).

3. Cut a hole on the cup's bottom.

4. Get a screen lid.

5. Put the lid on.

6. Voila. No more drowned cricket.

Feeding Cup

Great pics-you have inspired me! The lids (and deli cups) can be purchased at the web site mantisplace.com

Does anyone out there have any extra screened lids? I checked the website and it is VERY expensive to buy them with shipping. WOW All for a few lids.

And where do you get screened lids? My feeders come with perforated dish not screened lids.

I got it from mulberryfarms when i bought 100 crix from them. They use those lids for crix and roaches cup.
If you want specifically get only the lids, try to give them a call to inquire the empty cups and the lids.

another one is here:

But, you are right, it does get expensive.

Sometimes reptile convention sell them in bulk too.
I got several cloth lids from last NARBC show at Aneheim.

If you need to purchase in bulk, better to get it from someplace else.
Unfortunately, I forgot the site...
Marty MistKing used to mention the site where he bought all his shipping supplies.
I hope breeders can chime in.
:)

or you can always cut a hole in the cuplid, buy aluminum screen, and glue it with glue gun.

I only want 6! I'll have to check with my reptile store. Maybe they have some in the back. I don't need to buy in bulk. Not yet....my eggs aren't due to hatch for another 4 months.
